This course will equip students with the specialized skills and intuition necessary to uncover hidden evidence and track down elusive threats. Through comprehensive training, participants will develop the ability to detect compromised systems, accurately identify the timing and method of breaches, understand what attackers have accessed or altered, and effectively contain and remediate incidents.
Course Objectives
- Equip participants with the knowledge of fundamental digital forensics concepts and best practices.
- Provide hands-on experience in setting up and configuring a forensic workstation.
- Teach methods for creating and verifying forensic images and acquiring digital evidence.
- Develop skills in recovering and analyzing deleted, hidden, or suspicious data.
- Enhance proficiency in conducting forensic investigations on Windows systems.
- Introduce memory forensics techniques and effective incident response strategies.
- Enable participants to perform mobile forensics on various devices using both open-source and commercial tools.
- Train participants in capturing and analyzing network traffic for forensic purposes.
- Introduce the use of steganography tools to detect and analyze hidden data.
- Guide participants in compiling comprehensive forensic reports that meet legal standards.
